Frequently asked questions
Can you secure our premises tonight and glaze tomorrow?
Yes, and that's usually the sensible order. We attend, clear the glass, board the opening securely so you're insured and weatherproof overnight, then return with the manufactured glass — often the next working day for standard shop front units.
Do you offer contracts for multiple sites?
We do. Several retailers, housing associations and property management companies use us as a reactive glazing contractor across a portfolio, with agreed rates and response times. Call the office and ask for commercial contracts.
Does shop front glass have to be safety glass?
In critical locations — doors, side panels next to doors, and low-level glazing below 800mm (1500mm in and beside doors) — yes. Approved Document K requires glass in those positions to be toughened or laminated safety glass, correctly marked. We specify to that standard as a matter of course.
Can you fit manifestation to a glass door or screen?
Yes. Large uninterrupted glazed areas need manifestation so people can see the glass is there. We can supply and apply frosted, etched or printed vinyl, including your logo, at the heights Approved Document K sets out.
Do you provide RAMS and proof of insurance?
Yes — risk assessments, method statements and public liability certification are available on request before we attend site, which most commercial clients and managing agents need for their files.
