Misted glass, a failed seal, or a smashed sealed unit? You almost certainly don't need a new window. We make the glass to your measurements and fit it into the frames you already have.
When a sealed unit's edge seal fails, moisture gets into the cavity and condenses between the panes. That's the misting you can't wipe off. It also means the unit has lost most of its insulating value — so it is costing you money on heating as well as looking poor.
The fix is to replace the glass unit alone. The frame, hinges, handles and trims stay exactly where they are. We measure on site, manufacture to size and fit — usually inside a week, and often much sooner.
We've been repairing broken and failed double glazed units for over 20 years and can manufacture and replace all types. Annealed float glass, the latest low-emissivity energy-saving glass, toughened and laminated safety glass, patterned and obscured glass, leaded and Georgian bar units, acoustic glass for busy roads, and self-cleaning glass for roof units.
We'll also advise on the sensible upgrade. If a unit has failed anyway, going from old plain double glazing to a modern low-e, argon-filled unit with a warm-edge spacer costs a little more and meaningfully improves the room.
Free, no-obligation quotes and a fast service make Fast Glass a sensible first call. If you need a double glazed unit repaired as a priority, our team are here to help — and if it turns out the frame is the real problem rather than the glass, we'll tell you that rather than sell you a unit that won't fix it.

Not reliably. There are drilling-and-drying services advertised, but once the perimeter seal has failed the unit will re-mist and the insulating gas is already gone. Replacing the sealed unit is the proper repair and it isn't expensive.
No — just the glass unit, in the vast majority of cases. The frame, hinges and handles stay. That's what makes this a repair rather than a replacement window, and it's why it costs a fraction of what a new window does.
We measure on site, then the unit is manufactured to size. Standard clear units are typically ready in two to five working days; patterned, toughened, leaded or oversized units take a little longer. Fitting takes around half an hour per window.
Low-e glass has a microscopically thin metallic coating that reflects heat back into the room while still letting light through. Combined with an argon-filled cavity and a warm-edge spacer it roughly halves the heat loss of older double glazing. If you're replacing a failed unit anyway, the upgrade cost is small and it pays back.
Yes. We supply units with internal Georgian bars in a range of widths and finishes, and leaded or stained-effect units to match existing windows. Send us a photograph and a measurement and we'll match it.
Tell us what's broken or what you'd like made. We'll give you a clear price with no surprises — and if it's an emergency, we aim to be with you inside the hour.
